Chek passkeys are linked to the browser or device. Passkeys are not able to be used from an unauthorized remote browser or device.
If you suspect that your account has been compromised, perhaps due to a compromised email account and the potential misuse of the one-time passcode (OTP) to access your Chek account, we are here to support you!
If you suspect that your Chek account has been compromised, please follow these steps:
1. Update Your Email Password: Immediately change the password of your email account. Choose a strong, unique password that you haven't used before to prevent further unauthorized access.
2. Add Additional Security Measures to Your Email Account: Enhance your email account's security by enabling two-factor authentication (2FA), if available. Also, review and update your security questions and backup email addresses for added protection.
3. Delete and Replace the Passkey: Promptly remove your current passkey from both your Chek account and your device. Then, create a new one on your trusted device. Remember, passkeys are specific to the device where they're created, blocking access from any unauthorized or remote device.
Note: To fully remove a passkey and avoid sign-in difficulties, ensure that you remove it from both your Chek account and your device's passcode biometrics.
4. Contact Chek Support: For further assistance or to report the issue promptly to Chek's support team.
This approach utilizes the built-in security of browser and device-specific passkeys, ensuring the safety of your account, your data, and prevention of unauthorized access.
